Tips to Choosing a Plan

Choose a plan that meets your specific needs

Choosing the plan that’s best suited for you is important.  You may want to join a plan to keep seeing a particular doctor or other care provider. If you don’t have a provider, there are other things you may want to think about:

  • Convenience - Does the plan have doctors at a location that is convenient to you and with office hours that fit your schedule?
  • Special programs – Does the plan offer a special program of interest to you?  You may want a program for pregnant women or one to help you manage your diabetes, asthma or other health condition.
  • Your medications – If you want to keep taking certain medications, you may want to first call the plan to ask about the list of drugs covered by the plan. You can also visit the plan’s website.
